Tour Overview

Your adventure begins at the designated meeting point in Thingvellir National Park, home to the renowned Silfra Fissure. A short walk will take us to this remarkable natural wonder, where you'll have the opportunity to appreciate its beauty. Here, you'll receive essential instruction on snorkeling techniques, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience as you engage with this extraordinary underwater environment.

The fissure marks the boundary where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates diverge, allowing you to snorkel between two continents. Get ready to explore the impressive canyon walls from a close vantage point.

As you glide through the crystal-clear waters, you'll navigate towards the expansive section known as Silfra Hall. Continuing, you'll encounter the breathtaking Silfra Cathedral, a highlight of the fissure. Your snorkeling journey will conclude in the Blue Lagoon, the shallowest area of the Silfra rift.

After approximately 35 minutes of snorkeling, we'll return to land to warm up with hot chocolate and biscuits. Once rejuvenated, our exploration continues to the soothing Laugarvatn Fontana spa.

To reach the spa, a short drive is required. Upon arrival, you can indulge in the relaxing geothermal baths and reap the benefits of these natural healing waters. With various natural pools, steam rooms, and ice lakes, the spa has something for everyone!

The tour will conclude at the Laugarvatn spa after 5 hours, but you are welcome to remain and enjoy the facilities for as long as you wish.
