Snowmobile Ride on Langjökull Glacier

Want to enjoy nature in Iceland? On this snowmobile tour of the Langjökull glacier, we'll drive around these impressive landscapes in the second-largest glacier in Iceland.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at base camp in Kjóastaðir, between Geysir and Gullfoss. From here, we'll board a 4x4 vehicle that will take us to the Langjökull glacier. Are you ready to drive a snowmobile?

From the vehicle, we'll enjoy views of the Eiríksjökull and Hofsjökull glaciers and the Kerlingafjöll mountains. Once in Langjökull, we'll don the necessary equipment and provide a safety briefing before starting the snowmobile activity.

Along the route, we'll reach 1450 metres (4757 feet) above sea level as we explore the "white glacier." We'll visit a real natural ice cave with a translucent blue ice ceiling formed of layers of white ice and volcanic ash. You'll have around 15 minutes to explore it.

After visiting the cave, we'll return to base camp, with an expected duration of around 5 hours from the start of the activity.

Requirements

To participate, you must own a valid driving license (equivalent to type B in Europe).Children aged 8-16 can travel as passengers and must be accompanied by an adult.
