Explore the southern coast of the dreamy island of Saona with this excursion from Boca Chica. A paradise full of native flora and fauna and mangroves awaits!
Description
Between 7 and 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Boca Chica. From there, we'll travel to Bayahíbe, where we'll take a boat to Cotubanamá National Park. We will make a brief stop at Palmilla beach before continuing to Saona Island, known for its beaches Playa La Caleta and Playa Mano Juan, featuring natural pools.
Lunch will consist of a traditional meal by the sea, including rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a non-alcoholic beverage.
After lunch, we will walk through the town of Mano Juan, observing the colorful houses and visiting the sea turtle conservation center to learn about the care for hatchlings. From August to September, it may be possible to see newborn turtles.
Next, we will go to Los Flamencos beach for swimming and birdwatching. We will then explore the mangrove areas, where you may jump off the boat to observe starfish, taking care not to disturb them.
The day will conclude with a cocktail featuring Dominican rum, followed by a return to the pier of Bayahíbe and a bus ride back to Boca Chica, arriving at your hotel between 5 and 6:30 pm.
