Explore the southern coast of the dreamy island of Saona with this excursion from Boca Chica. A paradise full of native flora and fauna and mangroves awaits!
Description
Between 7 and 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Boca Chica. We'll travel to Bayahíbe to take a boat to Cotubanamá National Park, making a brief stop at Palmilla beach.
Next, we'll sail to Saona Island in Cotubanamá National Park. There, we will visit Playa La Caleta and Playa Mano Juan, both known for their natural pools.
For lunch, a traditional meal by the sea will be provided, consisting of rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a non-alcoholic beverage.
After lunch, we will walk through Mano Juan to see the traditional colorful houses and visit the sea turtle conservation center to learn about hatchling care. Between August and September, you may see newborn turtles.
Then, we will go to Los Flamencos beach for swimming and birdwatching. We will explore the mangrove areas and you may have the opportunity to jump off the boat to see starfish up close, with caution.
To conclude the day, we will enjoy a cocktail with Dominican rum. Finally, we will return to Bayahíbe and take the bus back to Boca Chica, arriving at your hotel between 5 and 6:30 pm.
