Explore the southern coast of the dreamy island of Saona with this excursion from Boca Chica. A paradise full of native flora and fauna and mangroves awaits!
Description
Between 7 and 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Boca Chica. From there, we'll travel to Bayahíbe, where we will board a boat to Cotubanamá National Park. There will be a brief stop at Palmilla beach, a natural area surrounded by coconut trees and fine sand.
Next, we'll sail to Saona Island, part of Cotubanamá National Park, also known as Parque Nacional del Este. We will visit Playa La Caleta and Playa Mano Juan, both known for their crystalline natural pools.
For lunch, we will have a traditional meal by the sea, consisting of rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a non-alcoholic beverage.
After lunch, we will explore Mano Juan to see the traditional colorful houses and visit the sea turtle conservation center. Between August and September, it may be possible to see newborn turtles.
Subsequently, we will go to Los Flamencos beach for swimming and birdwatching. We will then navigate through the mangrove areas with opportunities to observe starfish.
To conclude the day, we will enjoy a cocktail with Dominican rum before returning to the pier in Bayahíbe. Arrival at your hotel in Boca Chica is scheduled between 5 and 6:30 pm.
