On this day trip to Isla Escudo de Veraguas, you can spend a day in this hidden treasure in the Panamanian Caribbean.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the port of Isla Colón to begin our trip to Isla Escudo de Veraguas. We'll board a boat in Bocas del Toro and sail along the Caribbean Sea for 3 hours, making a stop at a pristine beach for a dip. Upon arrival, we'll disembark and take a scenic tour to explore the island's biodiversity.
Isla Escudo de Veraguas is the natural habitat of the Pygmy 3-toed sloth and the strawberry poison-dart frog, both in danger of extinction. We'll watch for these and other species during the route.
Next, we'll stop at a beach for snorkeling where you can explore the seabed of the Panamanian Caribbean. After this activity, you will have free time for lunch.
Post-lunch, we'll visit the community of Río Caña to learn about local traditions. You can enjoy a traditional dance show and observe how locals create artisan products from natural materials. We will then return to the boat for the trip back to Bocas del Toro.
We'll conclude the day 10 hours later at the starting point, bidding farewell.
