Colombian Fruit Tour
The tour begins with a walk from the Mercado de Paloquemao, entrance 10, followed by a public transport ride to the capital's fruit market. During the journey, we will discuss Colombia's culinary traditions and the significance of tropical fruits in its gastronomy.
At the market, we will explore numerous varieties of tropical fruits found in Colombia. One highlight is the granadilla, known for its sweet pulp around the seeds. Another is the zapote, which, despite its difficult peel, reveals a refreshing orange flesh inside.
We will also visit a stall for passion fruit to experience its diverse flavors and learn about its historical aphrodisiac properties. A soursop stall will showcase its rough exterior, revealing a mild-flavored, whitish internal flesh when peeled.
Before concluding the tour, we will enjoy a fresh fruit juice before returning to the starting point.
