Cuevas de Tenjo Hike

Join us as we enter the depths of the Earth on this hiking route through the Cuevas de Tenjo, where we will explore the caves and enjoy views of the Bogotá savanna.

Description

At the specified time, we will meet at your chosen pickup point and travel by minibus to the centre of Tenjo. There, we will begin a 45-minute hike to the caves of Colombia.

During the hike, we will see the Bogotá savanna, observe cultivated fields, and, if fortunate, spot various birds in the area.

We will access the Cuevas de Tenjo using ropes to descend 45 metres (147 Feet) below the surface. Lanterns will illuminate our path as we learn about the cave formations and their historical uses.

After a 10-minute visit inside the caves, we will return to the surface and head to the viewpoint for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Next, we will walk to a hummingbird conservation centre to learn about these birds and take an hour's break to rest.

Finally, we will return to the initial meeting point after an 8-hour tour.
