Guatavita & Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá Tour

After pickup from your chosen meeting point in Bogotá, we'll set off north for 2-2.5 hours to the town of Guatavita.

We’ll embark on a 20 to 30-minute route around Guatavita, home to the Guatavita Lagoon. A 2-hour walk with a Spanish-speaking guide will explore this natural site, known for Indigenous offerings to Chie, the goddess of water, and its connection to the legend of El Dorado.

After visiting the lake, we will travel for 1 to 1.5 hours to Zipaquirá, where you'll have 1 hour free for lunch.

After regrouping, you will have 2 hours to visit the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá with an English audio guide. This church is located 590 feet (180 meters) deep in the salt mines, which have been operated since 1801.

Finally, we will return to different meeting points in Bogotá, completing the journey in 1.5 to 2 hours.

Important

This tour includes a Spanish-speaking driver during transfers and a Spanish-speaking guide for the 2-hour walk around Guatavita Lagoon. The Salt Cathedral visit will be conducted with an English audio guide.
