Description
We'll meet at the entrance to the Gold Museum to begin our guided tour of this museum and the neighborhood of La Candelaria.
We'll start by visiting the church of San Francisco, the Archaeological Museum Casa del Marqués de San Jorge, and the Gold Museum of Bogotá, showcasing a collection of golden pieces from ancient pre-Colombian civilizations such as the Muiscas and the Calimas.
Next, we will stroll through the Plaza de Bolivar, an open space known for its impressive architecture, including the Primatial Cathedral of Bogotá, the Capitolio Nacional, and the Lievano Palace, home to the City Hall.
In La Candelaria, we'll visit the 10th Street of the Colony, observing the Colegio San Bartolomé and historic houses belonging to Manuelita Saenz, Bolívar, and Viceroy Sámano.
Our final stops will include the Miguel Urrutia Art Museum, home to the well-known monstrance La Lechuga, and the Botero Museum, featuring works donated by Fernando Botero.
After 4 hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude the tour.
