Description
The adventure begins at the Cranky Croc Hostel with a departure from Bogotá to the Páramo de Sumapaz. A stop for a traditional breakfast will occur before reaching the destination.
Upon arrival, experience the vastness of the world's largest moor at an altitude of over 3500 meters (11,500 feet), covering nearly half-million acres filled with unique flora and fauna. Sightings may include Andean bears, deer, eagles, and condors. A hiking adventure will immerse participants in the incredible landscapes.
In addition to its natural beauty, Sumapaz is rich in indigenous traditions with ancient rites predating the Spanish arrival. Two viewpoints will be visited for panoramic views of the Frailejones Valley and the glacial lagoons.
After the hike, a stop at a farmhouse will provide fruit snacks. The return transport to Bogotá will take place approximately eight hours after pickup.
