On our day trip to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, we'll discover one of the most remarkable underground monuments.
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the pickup point in Bogotá and head northbound to Zipaquirá. The drive will take between 1.5 to 2 hours.
Upon arrival, you'll have 2 hours of free time in the Salt Cathedral, located 590 feet (180 metres) underground. Inside, you can admire various sculptures and crosses made from salt and marble elements. We'll explore notable features such as the choir, Stations of the Cross, and water mirrors, along with the history of the temple, which was named the first of the Seven Wonders of Colombia in 2007.
You will then have 1 hour of free time in Zipaquirá for lunch and to stroll through its historic center, where you can see the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and its colonial-style buildings.
Finally, we'll return to Bogotá.
