Archiginnasio Ticket + Tasting at the Quadrilatero Market

  • 1 - 2 Stunden

Gastronomy & history star in this combo ticket that includes entry to the Archiginnasio & a tasting at the Quadrilateral Market. You'll visit one of Bologna's must-see monuments & taste the famous Bolognese sauce!

Why visit the Archiginnasio of Bologna?

This ticket provides access to the Archiginnasio, a significant historical building in Bologna. Constructed in the 16th century by Cardinal Charles Borromeo, it was the seat of the University of Bologna. Visitors will notice over 7,000 coats of arms inside representing students. An English audioguide is included, offering insights about the enclosure, the Anatomical Theater, and the Stabat Mater room.

The Anatomical Theater features wooden sculptures used for medical studies, including a nod to Bolognese Gaspare Tagliacozzi, a pioneer in plastic surgery. Access to the Archiginnasio Municipal Library, housing over 35,000 ancient texts, is available via a passage in the Sala dello Stabat Mater.

Tasting at the Quadrilatero Market

Your ticket also includes a tasting at the Quadrilateral Market, a notable market in Bologna. Upon entry to the museum, you'll receive two snack tickets valid for the same day or within the next six days.

Each voucher can be redeemed for a drink and a tapa: either crescenza cheese with mortadella or meatballs Bolognese or tigellone with ragu, based on your choice. These snacks can be enjoyed at various stalls in the Quadrilateral Market.
