If you'd like to explore the beautiful area surrounding Bologna, we've got the perfect activity for you! On our Bologna Outskirts Bike Tour, we'll visit small towns near Emilia Romagna's capital, such as Casalecchio di Reno, Sasso Marconi and Palazzo de Rossi.
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet on Via Vitale da Bologna, 1A and hop onto our electric bikes. From here, we'll start pedalling around the villages that surround Bologna.
To begin, we'll cycle to the Casalecchio Dam, built in the 14th century on the Reno River, discussing its role in Bologna's economic growth and its connection to the city’s canals.
Afterwards, we'll cycle to the town of Sasso Marconi, the birthplace of the inventor of the radio, Gugliemo Marconi. We'll cover significant aspects of his life, including his Nobel Prize in Physics.
The final stop of the day will be in Palazzo de Rossi, a small medieval village known for its history, including a visit by Pope Julius II.
During the final stretch, we'll cycle back through tree-lined avenues, concluding our tour after a total of 3 hours.
