On this bike tour of Bordeaux, we'll see the main attractions of this French city from another point of view while we review the highlights of its history.

Bordeaux City Bike Tour

We'll meet at the appointed time on Rue du Jardin Public in Bordeaux. After a brief technical talk, we'll start the bicycle tour of the main districts of the capital of New Aquitaine. The route will be approximately 15 kilometres long and will mostly run through very flat areas.

We'll first go through the historic district of Saint-Michel, situated on the banks of the Garonne River. Here, we will stop in front of the Saint-Michel Basilica, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to learn about its history.

The bike tour will continue with a view of the church of Sainte-Croix, a former Benedictine abbey and a Historical Monument of France. We will discuss the Merovingian period during which the temple was constructed.

The next stop will be the Jardin Public, followed by a visit to the Chartrons district, known for its restaurants and bistros. Next, we will head to the Bacalan district, where we will see the Cité du Vin.

From Bacalan, we'll cross to the La Bastide district, known for its bohemian atmosphere, before returning to the starting point to complete the bike tour.
