Bordeaux City Bike Tour
We'll meet at the designated time on Rue du Jardin Public in Bordeaux. After a brief technical talk, we'll start the bicycle tour of Bordeaux and the main districts of the capital of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Our first stop will be at the Palais Gallien, the remains of an ancient Roman amphitheatre. On the way to Notre-Dame Church, we'll pass the Galerie des Grands Hommes.
Next, we'll continue to Saint-André Cathedral, a World Heritage Site, and learn about its history. Then, we'll visit the Tribunal Judiciaire, showcasing Bordeaux's Neoclassical architecture.
We'll cycle to the Grosse Cloche, a city symbol, and then stop in the Saint-Michel district, located by the Garonne River. The architectural jewel here is the Saint-Michel Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We'll cross the Pont de Pierre, Bordeaux's oldest bridge, and reach the Quai des Queyries for views of the riverbank.
Next, we'll visit Darwin, an alternative space with street art and shops, with a 20-minute break. Afterward, we'll head to the Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas, the tallest suspension bridge in France, and admire the Cité du Vin.
The final stretch includes the Quai des Chartrons, Rue Notre-Dame, and Cours Xavier Arnozan, where we will make our last stop. Ultimately, after 14 km (8.6 mi), we will return to the starting point to conclude this 3-hour bike tour.
