Les Bassins des Lumières
Situated within the historic submarine base in Bordeaux, this location holds the title of the largest digital arts center in the world.
Your admission grants you access to a vast space dedicated to immersive art exhibitions. Each season, you can engage with a variety of themes that include masterpieces from renowned artists, innovative contemporary works, explorations of outer space, and the vibrant universe of comic art.
The center consists of four unique exhibition areas:
The Cube: a soundproof space of 220 square meters and a height of 8 meters, concentrating on contemporary immersive artworks.The Immersive Cistern: measuring 155 square meters and reaching 7 meters high, this area provides a distinct vantage point for enjoying digital projections while seated.Large Mooring Buoys: an area suspended over water showcasing projections from the current exhibition schedule.The Base Museum: an informative space dedicated to the military and architectural heritage of the submarine base.

Ocean
This stunning digital display invites viewers to immerse themselves in the intriguing depths and stunning beauty of the ocean.
Matisse: A Symphony of Colors
This exhibition offers a rich visual journey into the artistic realm of Henri Matisse. Through this experience, you can rediscover his works, traversing various chromatic stages, from the renowned Blue Nudes to his Fauvist era, culminating with the vibrancy of Luxe, Calme et Volupté.
Frida Kahlo: Right in the Heart
Explore a symbolic landscape woven with plant motifs and anatomical forms, where nature's essence interacts with the splendor of Mexican folklore. This exhibition traces Frida Kahlo's journey, from moments in the Blue House to her passionate relationship with Diego Rivera, revealing how she transformed her suffering into art.

“Matisse” and “Frida Kahlo” Exhibitions
The two exhibitions are displayed during the following periods:

Sunday to Friday: 2 pm to 7 pm (last admission at 5:30 pm)Saturdays: 2 pm to 8 pm (last admission at 6:30 pm).
From Saturday, August 1, to Sunday, August 30, 2026:

Beginning August 31, 2026, the exhibitions will return to their usual schedule, continuing until early October.
