Rupe Trail Hike

Participants will meet at Piazzale Campo della Fiera in Borgo Maggiore at the scheduled time. The experience involves a hike along the Rupe Trail, an alternative path connecting the main entrance of the city to the Third Tower, "Il Montale", and the Second Tower, known as "Cesta" or "Fratta". San Marino opens its unique side to hikers.

The trail meanders on the slopes of Mount Titano, lined with leafy trees and rare vegetation such as ephedra nebrodense. Hikers will witness imposing rock faces, contributing to the distinct atmosphere and scenic views. Some sections may require extra effort, but the reward will be substantial.

The UNESCO-protected area features climbing spots and green terraces with views of the Adriatic Sea. Included in the hike are visits to the secluded Tanaccia Sanctuary and an important archaeological site. This region is also a habitat for the peregrine falcon, which has traditionally nested here. A knowledgeable guide will share insights about the area's significance.
