Braga Guided Tour
Meet us at Largo da Praça Velha to kick off our guided tour of Braga, where we'll explore this historic city.
In this historic plaza, one of the oldest in the city, we will admire the emblematic Porta Nova Arch, built in 1512. This arch features ornate baroque and neoclassical details and provides entry to the Braga Wall.
Next, we'll head to the Medieval Tower, a notable example of northern Portuguese architecture.
Our walking tour continues down Diogo de Sousa Street to the Town Hall building. Construction began in 1754 and completed in 1865, showcasing stunning baroque-style architecture.
Braga is considered Portugal's religious center. During our tour, we will discuss its storied past while passing through the Santa Barbara Gardens and the Third Order Church, dedicated to Pope John Paul II, and the impressive Braga Cathedral.
We will also discover notable 18th-century buildings, including Casa Rolão, Casa dos Crivos, and Capela e Casa dos Coimbras.
Finally, we will return to the meeting point 2.5 hours later, concluding our tour.
