Guimarães Day Trip & Wine Tasting

Description

We'll meet at the indicated time under the Arco da Porta Nova in Braga and then head south.

After approximately 30 minutes, we'll reach Guimarães. First, we'll visit the Castle of Guimarães, a 10th-century fort recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Participants can climb the castle for panoramic views while learning about the nation's foundation.

Next, we'll explore the Paço dos Duques de Bragança, a 15th-century palace showcasing Portuguese nobility. The interior boasts tapestries, period furniture, and medieval weapons.

We'll then navigate the historic centre of Guimarães, walking through narrow streets filled with traditional façades, artisan shops, and quaint squares. Afterward, you'll have free time to have lunch at a local restaurant.

Post-lunch, we'll regroup for a visit to a local winery for a guided tour and a Vinho Verde tasting.

Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Braga, completing the trip approximately 6 hours after pickup.
