Guimarães Day Trip & Wine Tasting

Description

We will meet at the designated time under the Arco da Porta Nova in Braga and depart southward.

After about 30 minutes, we will arrive in Guimarães. Our first stop will be the Castle of Guimarães, a 10th-century fort and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Participants can climb the castle for panoramic views while learning about the country's history.

Next, we will visit the Paço dos Duques de Bragança, a 15th-century palace showcasing Portuguese nobility. The interior features tapestries, period furniture, and medieval weapons.

We will continue through the historic centre of Guimarães, exploring narrow streets, artisan shops, squares, and cafés. Participants will have free time for lunch at a restaurant in the city centre.

After lunch, we will proceed to a local winery for a guided tour and a Vinho Verde tasting.

The tour will conclude with a return to the meeting point in Braga, approximately 6 hours after the start of the trip.
