Explore the capital of Brazil on two wheels with the Brasilia Bike Tour, where you can select your preferred route and immerse yourself fully in the city’s unique offerings.

Brasilia Bike Tour

Participants on the Brasilia Bike Tour can choose from various itineraries tailored to their interests, all starting from a designated meeting spot at a time convenient for them:

Brasilia Administrative Centre Tour (3 hours)

This tour includes a visit to the TV Tower and the Clube do Choro, a cultural landmark designed by Oscar Niemeyer that honors Brazilian heritage. Riders will also see the Planetarium, the impressive Mane Garrincha Stadium, and the Ulysses Guimaraes Convention Centre, notable for having five auditoriums.

The journey will proceed to the Buriti Palace, the hub of government for the Federal District, along with the JK Memorial, which commemorates former President Juscelino Kubitschek, and the Indigenous Peoples Memorial. The next highlight will be the Rainha da Paz Military Cathedral, where Pope John Paul II held a significant mass in 1991. The tour concludes at the expansive Sarah Kubitscheck Park, the largest urban park in South America, and the Plaza de Los Cristales.

Monumental Axis Tour (3 hours)

Starting from the Television Tower, cyclists will traverse the Monumental Axis, an avenue featuring government structures crafted by Oscar Niemeyer, famed for his innovative curves.

This ride will cover the southern section, home to commercial buildings and healthcare facilities, and the northern sector, focused on cultural institutions. Here, participants will have the opportunity to admire the national library, museum, and the iconic Metropolitan Cathedral. The route will take us to the Esplanade of the Ministries and the Plaza de Los Tres Poderes, concluding at the Lucio Costa Hall and the Ministry of Justice, with a final stop at the central bus station.

Fatima Quarter and Fatima Church Tour (3 hours)

This segment of the tour focuses on the Church of Fatima and its adjoining residential community. Beginning at the TV Tower, participants will cycle past the Clube do Choro and the scenic Sarah Kubitschek Park, crafted by the celebrated landscape architect Burle Marx.

Next, riders will head to Sul 308 Square and the Brasilia Cinema, venue for the city’s film festival. Continuing with the cultural motif, visitors will reach the Renato Russo Space before arriving at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, commissioned by Sarah Kubitscheck. The tour will conclude at the Don Bosco Sanctuary, dedicated to the city's patron saint.

Lucio Costa Stopovers Tour (5 hours)

This route is crafted to unveil the vision of Lucio Costa, a trailblazer of modern Brazilian architecture. It is noteworthy that Brasilia is the sole contemporary city recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Costa's plan encompasses four distinct zones: monumental, gregarious, residential, and bucolic.

Participants will commence at the Monumental Axis, where the city’s principal public buildings are situated. The exploration will then lead through the residential zones, showcasing the organized "superquadras," or large self-sufficient blocks. Following this, visitors will engage with the gregarious sector, which is vital for commercial and social interactions, before venturing into the bucolic area featuring green spaces in Brasilia.
