On this day trip to Zilina and Mala Fatra National Park, we'll visit the capital of northwestern Slovakia and a site in the Western Carpathian mountain range.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Bratislava Central Station, where your high-speed train will depart for Zilina.
Upon arrival at Zilina station, we will head to the Vrátna Valley in Mala Fatra National Park, enjoying Northern Slovakia's landscapes along the way.
After reaching our destination, we'll board the cable car to Snilovske Peak, at an altitude of 1524 meters. We will take a walk to admire the peaks of the Mala Fatra National Park.
Next, we will descend to visit Terchova, a village known for its folk traditions and music, part of the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2013. Here, we'll explore the church of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
A break at a local restaurant will provide an opportunity for lunch if desired.
We will then head to Zilina for a guided tour of the historic center, including the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Budatín Castle, Mariánske Square, and Rosenfeld Palace.
Finally, we will return to the train station in Zilina for your train back to Bratislava, concluding the tour after 13.5 hours of sightseeing.
