Brescia Private Guided Tour

At the selected time, we will meet at the Piazza del Foro to start our private tour of Brescia. During this walking tour, we will learn historical facts and admire the key monuments in this charming city in the Lombardy region.

Our tour will start with a visit to the Roman ruins of Brescia. We will learn about the history of this site, taking us back to the 1st century and the golden age of the Ancient Empire in northern Italy.

Next, we will continue our walk towards Piazza Paolo VI, a square of medieval origin and the heart of Brescia. Here, we will admire the facades of the Palazzo Comunale and the two cathedrals of the city, noting the architectural contrast between the New Cathedral and the Old Cathedral.

The next stop will be the Piazza Della Loggia, showcasing Renaissance aesthetics. We will explore the palaces surrounding the square and discuss the history of its astronomical clock.

Before concluding the tour, we will explain why Brescia is known as the 'lioness of Italy' and review the many battles that occurred in the region, including the Napoleonic invasion and the uprising against the Austrians.
