Description
We'll meet at Plaza Iglesia in Yela at the designated time. From there, we'll start this hiking route through the Quejigares de Barriopedro & Brihuega.
Located in the valley of the Tajuña River, this protected wooded area features a variety of species, including holm oaks, gall oaks, willows, and poplars. As we walk through the natural landscapes of the province of Guadalajara, we'll share interesting facts about the surroundings.
During the hike, you may observe small mammals like genets, wildcats, and badgers. The route, approximately 13 kilometers long, will lead us to Cívica, a village carved into the rock.
This abandoned site includes caves, terraces, arches, and passages that create an architectural landmark in the Alcarria. Here, you'll learn about the recent history of this location established by Don Aurelio, along with the story of Cívica.
At the end of the tour, we'll return to the starting point in Yela, completing the experience in about 4 hours.
