Belgium is spelled with a b for "bandé dessinée", the French term for Ninth Art. In this comic tour of Brussels, we'll explore various urban vignettes through the city's murals.

Description

The comic tour of Brussels begins with a meeting at the designated time on Rue du Marché au Charbon. Our first stop will be a shop specializing in Ninth Art, introducing the world of Belgian comics.

Next, we'll walk through the Belgian capital to view several murals dedicated to comics. We will learn about the artists, their connections, and the main schools of Franco-Belgian comics, including the notable "clear line". Additionally, we'll discover the first mural dedicated to comics in Brussels.

Subsequently, we will visit the house that inspired Hergé for Tintin's home, situated near the market where he located the famed ‘unicorn’. As we continue, we will stroll through ‘Les Marolles’, an authentic and vibrant district of Brussels, where more murals featuring Hergé characters, Peyó, the creator of The Smurfs, and others can be seen.

After a 2.5-hour tour, we will conclude at the Place du Jeu de Balle, the square from which one of Tintin's adventures, adapted into a film by Spielberg, commences. This may mark the start of your own great adventure.
