Brussels Comic Tour

Belgium is spelled with a b for "bandé dessinée", the French term for Ninth Art. This comic tour of Brussels showcases various urban vignettes through the city's murals.

Description

The tour begins at a designated time on Rue du Marché au Charbon. Initially, we will visit a shop specializing in Ninth Art to explore the world of Belgian comics.

We will continue walking through Brussels to discover multiple murals related to comics, learn about their artists, and understand the main schools of Franco-Belgian comics, particularly the "clear line" style. Additionally, we will identify the first mural dedicated to comics in Brussels.

Next, we will visit the house that inspired Hergé for Tintin's home, located near the market linked to the famous ‘unicorn’ from the comics. The tour will include more murals and a stroll through ‘Les Marolles’, the authentic district of Brussels, featuring characters from Hergé, Peyó, creator of The Smurfs, and others.

After a 2.5-hour tour, we will conclude the activity at the Place du Jeu de Balle, where Tintin begins one of his adventures adapted into a film by Spielberg. This may mark the start of your own adventure.
