On this day trip from Brussels, you'll explore two cities in the Belgian region of Flanders: Antwerp and Ghent.
Day Trip to Antwerp and Ghent
We'll meet outside Brussels Central Station at 8:30 and depart on our bus towards the Flanders region. Before leaving, there will be a short stop to admire the Atomium, a landmark built for the 1958 Brussels World Expo.
Then, we will head to the historic center of Antwerp. During our stroll, we'll learn about the city's history and its Hispanic legacy, including sights like the Antwerp City Hall, the Meir shopping street, and Steen castle.
At the end of the guided tour of Antwerp, you will have about an hour and a half of free time for lunch and additional sightseeing. It is recommended to visit the Cathedral of Our Lady, home to a collection of paintings by Flemish Baroque artist Rubens.
After our meeting, we will continue to Ghent, the birthplace of Charles V. A walking tour will cover the historic center, including Saint-Nicholas Church, Belfry, and Saint Bavo Cathedral, as well as the Graslei, featuring traditional Flemish houses.
The final stop will be at Gravensteen, the Castle of the Counts of Flanders, where you'll have an hour of free time to explore the old town. We will return to Brussels, arriving around 6:30 pm.
Children Under 2
Children under 2 years must travel in an infant seat. It is important to bring your own regulation chair for participation.
