Flanders Fields Tour
If you're in Brussels and interested in history, this tour to Flanders Fields is for you. At the indicated time, we'll meet on Boulevard de Berlaimont and start our tour.
Between 1914 and 1918, the Flanders Fields were a significant area on the Western Front. We will first visit the German Military Cemetery in Langemark, where over 44,000 soldiers are buried, including the Comrades Grave.
Next, we will travel to Ypres, where we'll take a break for lunch at a restaurant before visiting the Flanders Fields Museum. This museum displays trenches and underground refuges and explains the conditions soldiers faced.
Our next stop will be the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 in Zonnebeke, where we will learn about the Third Battle of Ypres, also known as the Battle of Passchendaele.
We will also explore the Tyne Cot Memorial, the largest cemetery in the Commonwealth of Nations, which honors soldiers who died in the conflict.
To conclude our Flanders Fields tour, we'll visit the Monument to the Disappeared at the Menin Gate, honoring over 54,000 soldiers without a known grave.
Finally, we'll return to Brussels, concluding the tour after a total of 13 hours.
