Flanders Fields Tour
If you're in Brussels and want to visit a key site from the First World War, this tour to Flanders Fields is perfect. At the indicated time, we'll meet on Boulevard de Berlaimont and start our tour.
Between 1914 and 1918, the Flanders Fields were significant on the Western Front during World War One. First, we'll head to the German Military Cemetery in Langemark, where over 44,000 soldiers are buried. We will see the Comrades Grave, a highlight of this cemetery.
We will continue to Ypres, where we will take a break to eat at a restaurant. Then, we’ll visit the Flanders Fields Museum, which displays trenches and underground refuges, highlighting the conditions soldiers faced.
Our next stop will be the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 in Zonnebeke to learn about the Third Battle of Ypres, also known as the Battle of Passchendaele.
We'll explore the Tyne Cot Memorial, the largest cemetery in the Commonwealth of Nations, which honors soldiers who died in the conflict.
To complete our tour of Flanders Fields, we'll stop at the Monument to the Disappeared at the Menin Gate, a memorial for over 54,000 soldiers without a known grave.
Finally, we'll return to Brussels, concluding our tour after a total of 13 hours.
