Masca Ravine Hike
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Masca to start discovering one of the most unique hiking trails on the whole island. From this starting point, we'll begin our 6.2-mile (10 km) hiking route that'll lead us to the incredible landscape around the gorge. In total, we'll be spending approximately three hours going down and three and a half hours on our way back up.
Our route will begin in the Teno Rural Park as we descend through a once volcanic canyon, shaped by 5 million years of flowing water. We'll follow the Masca stream, admiring the birds and different plant species we encounter. The path will then take us to Masca Beach, a wild bay that can only be reached by boat or on foot. We'll take a break here to listen to the waves and view the Los Gigantes cliffs, which stand at 1,476 feet (450 meters). After our break, we'll start the ascent up the ravine. After 6 hours, we'll finish this hike through the Masca ravine, arriving at the starting point.
