The Buenos Aires graffiti tour introduces participants to the city's artistic and political mural scene.
Buenos Aires Graffiti Tour
Palermo is the largest and most artistic neighborhood in Buenos Aires, featuring the Museum of Latin American Art, artisanal markets, and an extensive array of murals and graffiti.
The tour begins at Plaza Serrano, where participants will explore notable graffiti along Palermo's Roussel and Santa Rosa, as well as Gorriti and Lavalleja, in search of exceptional street art.
A local guide will discuss the historical connections between graffiti and the city, tracing its evolution from the early 20th century with political slogans to the aerosol art movement of the 1960s, through the repressive periods of the 1970s and 1980s, and its resurgence in later years.
Since 2014, following the global rise of graffiti, the city government has encouraged local and international artists to beautify Palermo, resulting in vibrant street scenes. Notable artists include Grolou, Dame, Adrián Escandar, and Alfredo Segatori, alongside the Worldwide Wall, featuring international collaborative sticker art.
The tour concludes around 5 pm at the corner of Gorriti and Lavalleja.
