Kayak Tour of the Beagle Channel
Your journey will begin with a pick-up at your accommodation in Puerto Williams at 10 am, followed by a short drive to a campsite situated on the city's outskirts.
Upon arrival, we will go over essential safety protocols for kayaking and prepare our necessary gear including wetsuits, rain jackets, protective skirts, and other equipment. Then, it's time to board our kayaks!
As we paddle through the icy waters of the Beagle Channel, connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the initial section will be more protected, allowing you to become comfortable with kayaking techniques. Once you gain confidence, we will venture further from Puerto Williams, offering a chance to appreciate its beautiful coastline and the surrounding scenery of Navarino Island.
Throughout this excursion, you will discover the various bird species found in this remote southern region of South America. Additionally, we will delve into the history surrounding the Yaganes, an Indigenous community of Tierra del Fuego with deep historical roots.
The kayaking experience will conclude with our return to the campsite. Afterward, enjoy a snack featuring local delicacies along with a craft beer before we take you back to your hotel in Puerto Williams, concluding the tour by 2 pm.
Optional Sea Lion Experience
For those seeking to enhance their adventure, consider opting for a longer route that includes lunch by booking this kayak tour of the Beagle Channel with sea lion watching.
