Beagle Channel Kayak Tour with Sea Lion Watching
At 9 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Williams and drive 19 miles (30 kilometers) west to a campsite.
Upon arrival, a safety briefing will be conducted. Participants will be outfitted with waterproofs, wetsuits, life jackets, and other required gear before entering kayaks to explore the Beagle Channel.
After practice paddles in a sheltered bay, we will navigate open waters, appreciating beaches and cliffs within the Chilean part of the Beagle Channel, a natural border with Argentina in the Tierra del Fuego archipelago.
As kayaking skills improve, we will visit an islet home to seabirds and a large colony of sea lions, where these mammals often swim around the kayaks for close-up observations.
The kayak tour concludes with a return to the campsite for a picnic lunch featuring local products and a craft beer, plus options of coffee, tea, or mate.
We will drop you back at your hotel in Puerto Williams by 5 pm.
