Cadiz Cathedral & Tavira Tower Guided Tour Itinerary
Meet your guide in Plaza de San Juan de Dios, ready to begin your tour of two emblematic monuments. After a brief stroll through the Old Town and navigating under the Arco de la Rosa, you'll reach the Cadiz Cathedral, known as the "New Cathedral," built to accommodate the city's growing population. It showcases a fusion of architectural styles due to its 116 years of construction.
Next, head to the Torre Tavira, the tallest tower in Cadiz' Old Town. Enjoy its Baroque architecture and climb to the terrace for views over the city and bay. Reflect on the 18th century, when this and other towers were used for monitoring trading ships arriving from the Americas. The tower features a camera oscura for a live, moving projection of the surroundings, creating impressive optical illusions.
Your guided tour will last two hours.
Cathedral Museum
The tour includes admission to the Cathedral Museum. However, due to time constraints, we won't visit it during the tour. You can visit it at your own pace after the tour concludes.
Important
To enjoy the view from the Tavira Tower, you must be able to climb 173 steps.
