Cagliari Sella del Diavolo Hike
Your journey begins at 76 Largo Carlo Felice, where we will gather at the appointed time to board a bus heading towards the Sella del Diavolo. Upon arriving at the base of this impressive rocky outcrop, we will disembark and embark on our hiking adventure.
Have you ever wondered about the origin of the name Sella del Diavolo, translating to the Devil's Saddle? According to local legend, this site is where angels contended with the devil. Under the leadership of Archangel Michael, they triumphed, with the devil fleeing and leaving behind his saddle as evidence of the battle.
The hike will span two hours as we traverse this breathtaking promontory, unveiling its splendid natural features. Along the way, we will encounter fascinating remnants of historical sites, including a temple thought to be dedicated to Astarte, the Sant'Elia Tower, and a fortification dating back to the Second World War.
Upon reaching the summit, the awe-inspiring view of the Golfo degli Angeli will reward our efforts! After taking in the stunning scenery, we will make our way back down to Cagliari.
