Outback & Chillagoe Day Trip
Your journey begins between 6:45 and 7 am when our comfortable, air-conditioned minibus picks you up from your hotel in Cairns. From there, we will set off on a discovery of the expansive Australian Outback.
Our first destination will be a local coffee shop, where you can enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee or tea. Next, we will venture to the Chillagoe-Mungana Caves, home to stunning limestone formations and the fossilised remnants of a coral reef that existed approximately 400 million years ago.
Following that, we will visit the Chillagoe smelting ruins, where you’ll gain insights into the region's copper smelting history and appreciate the impressive old chimneys that punctuate this distinctive landscape.
If you’re feeling hungry at this point, we will head to one of Australia’s oldest pubs for a fulfilling lunch. With over a century of history, this pub offers a diverse menu featuring burgers, fish, and other local delicacies.
After savoring your meal, we will continue our expedition to the Aboriginal Art Rock, showcasing some remarkable rock paintings. En route, we will pause at Equilibrium Rock, providing a perfect opportunity for memorable photographs.
The final stop on our journey will be at the Granite Gorge Nature Park. Here, you can interact with the friendly wallabies that inhabit the area while enjoying the stunning natural surroundings.
After a day filled with exploration and adventure in the Australian Outback, we will conclude our tour by returning you to your hotel in Cairns, with an expected arrival time between 6:45 pm and 7 pm.
