Our first stop will be the Plaza de Armas, a significant historical site where the Inca leader Atahualpa met his fate at the hands of the Spaniards. Here, we'll observe the architectural beauty of the Santa Catalina cathedral and the San Francisco church, both distinguished by their intricate facades carved from volcanic stone.

Next, we will stroll a few blocks to the impressive Belen complex, which includes the Men's Hospital, Women's Hospital, and an adjoining church. Following this, we will visit the Cuarto del Rescate (Rescue Room), home to remarkable Incan artifacts preserved in Cajamarca. Historians suggest that this was the site where Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish conquistador, imprisoned Atahualpa before his execution. Here, we’ll discuss what life was like for Atahualpa during his final days in confinement!

Continuing our journey, we’ll ascend to the viewpoint at Santa Apolonia hill, offering breathtaking vistas of the city and the encompassing Rumi Tiana valley.
