On this private tour, you will explore Ollagüe and the Alto del Loa Salt Flats. The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Calama. We will embark on a 190-kilometer (118-mile) drive offering views of the San Pedro, San Pablo, and Ollagüe volcanoes.

Upon reaching the Ascotán salt flat, you will observe extensive gypsum and halite formations, as well as lagoons formed during the rainy season. Our visit will include insightful information about the area. Shortly thereafter, we will visit the Carcote Salt Flat, where small lakes, including Laguna Verde, can be found near its shores.

At approximately 2:30 PM, we will explore the former sugar refinery of Buenaventura, which was significant to the local economy due to the salt flats' geographic position.

Before returning to Calama, there will be time for lunch in Ollagüe, a rural village established in 1979 at an altitude of 3,660 meters (12,007 feet) above sea level. Following lunch, we will return to your hotel, with an expected return time between 10 and 11 hours after pickup.
