This private tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Calama. The itinerary includes a 190-kilometer (118-mile) car ride featuring views of the San Pedro, San Pablo, and Ollagüe volcanoes as we head towards the Ascotán salt flat. Here, we will observe large deposits of gypsum and halite along with lagoons fed by the salt flats during rainy seasons.

Continuing our journey, we'll arrive at the Carcote Salt Flat, where small lakes, particularly Laguna Verde, are found. Around 2:30 pm, we will stop at the former sugar refinery of Buenaventura, which was significant for the local economy due to the salt flats' geography.

Prior to our return to Calama, there will be an opportunity for lunch at local restaurants in Ollagüe, a rural village established in 1979 and located at an altitude of 3,660 meters (12,007 feet).

We expect to return to your hotel approximately 10 to 11 hours after pickup.
