Embark on a captivating private day trip to Chiu Chiu and the Poruña Volcano, unveiling the charm of a quaint village in Alto del Loa and the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes Mountains.
Tour Highlights
At 8:30 am, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Calama, starting the journey to Chiu Chiu and the Poruña Volcano. The first stop is the Conchi Viaduct, known for its historical significance as part of the railroad route from Antofagasta to Bolivia.
Next, we head to the vicinity of Poruña Volcano, where a 3-kilometer (1.8-mile) hike awaits at the smallest crater in the world, offering views of the Andes Mountains.
Continuing through the Lasana Valley, we'll see remnants of the earliest human settlements, focused on agriculture and livestock.
By 1:30 pm, we arrive at San Francisco de Chiu Chiu, allowing one hour for lunch on your own. Afterward, we will explore the historic streets and significant monuments, including the San Francisco Church, the oldest church in Chile.
At 3 pm, we begin our return to Calama, concluding with your drop-off at your hotel seven hours later.
