Rafting at Cañón de Almadenes
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Parking Rafting - Cañón y Cañón. From here, we'll move to the starting point of the activity.
If this is your first time rafting, we'll provide an introductory talk to explain how to navigate with the paddles. Once we learn the technique, we'll equip ourselves with a life vest and helmet and get into the rafts.
We'll descend through a level 1 rafting section, paddling down the most spectacular stretch of the Segura River, particularly the segment that runs through the canyon of Almadenes, which is a Protected Natural Area. During the trip, we'll share information about the biodiversity of this location and the riparian forest.
Throughout the tour, we'll make several stops to explore hidden treasures, including Abrigos del Pozo, a historical landmark with the cave of the Monigotes, recognized as a World Heritage Site for its prehistoric paintings, where we will attend a cave art workshop.
We'll also stop at Cueva de las Nutrias, known for its otters. After this, we'll return to the boat and continue paddling through Paraje de la Maestra and the Alfonso XII Reservoir until we reach La Mulata Dam, marking the end of this 3-hour adventure.
