On this day trip to the Farallones de Cali National Nature Park, you'll discover the landscapes of the Valle del Cauca and learn about the El Topacio ecosystem.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the designated time at the Hotel Intercontinental and depart southward, leaving the city behind. During the journey, we'll stop at a traditional bakery for a light breakfast before the hike.

Our first stop will be the Puente de Amarillo de La Vorágine, where we'll provide a kit with fruit, snacks, and a hydrating drink for the hiking route. We'll then walk toward El Topacio Environmental Center, crossing the Farallones de Cali National Nature Park on a 5.59 mi (9 km) hiking route.

As we progress, you'll encounter various rock formations, tropical forests, and moors. We will pause to take pictures, observe fauna, and learn about the flora. You will hear the Pance and Anchicayá rivers and the sounds of the Farallones waterfalls.

Once at El Topacio, we'll have a rest and an educational lecture about the park's history, protection, and conservation efforts for its unique ecosystem. You will learn about the sacred significance of the Farallones to ancestral Indigenous villages.

Afterward, we will begin our journey back, and if the weather permits, we'll swim in the Quebrada La Nevera. The cool water will be refreshing after the hike. Finally, we will return to Cali, concluding our trip after 4 to 6 hours at the meeting point.
