Palomino Islands Speedboat Trip & Swimming with Sea Lions
We will meet at Calle del Mar at 10 am to board the speedboat for a cruise around the islands of Callao.
The boat will sail across the South Pacific to showcase rock formations and local fishing activities. We will pass El Camotal, an island visible only during low tide due to its submersion after an earthquake.
Next, we will head to San Lorenzo, known as the "mystery island" for its navy base, cemeteries of Chilean soldiers, and over 20 pre-Incan archaeological sites.
We will also visit El Frontón, famous for its prison that held Shining Path prisoners in the 1980s. We will view the Cavinzas, a group of rocky islands with natural caves that host a colony of Humboldt penguins.
Finally, we will explore the Palomino Islands to observe the ecosystem of guano birds and swim with the resident sea lions. The trip concludes as we return to the meeting point in Callao at 1 pm.
