Palomino Islands Speedboat Trip & Swimming with Sea Lions
At 10 am, we'll meet in front of the El Mirador Restaurant in La Punta. From there, we will board the speed boat for a cruise around the islands of Callao.
The boat will sail across the South Pacific to admire rock formations and observe fishing activities up close. We'll pass El Camotal, an island submerged after an earthquake, visible only during low tide.
We'll visit San Lorenzo, known as a "mystery island," which houses a navy base, cemeteries of Chilean soldiers, and over 20 pre-Incan archaeological sites.
Next, we will head to El Frontón, recognized for the ruins of the prison that held Shining Path prisoners in the 1980s. We will also see the Cavinzas, rocky islands with natural caves and home to a colony of Humboldt penguins.
Finally, we will skirt the Palomino Islands to observe the ecosystem of guano birds and swim with the colony of sea lions inhabiting the area. A dip near the coast will allow interaction with these animals.
The trip concludes with our return to Callao at 1 pm.
