Fazenda Esperança Excursion

Get in touch with the more rural side of Brazil on this excursion to Fazenda da Esperança. We'll visit a farm founded in 1842 and check out the regional flora and fauna.

Fazenda Esperança Excursion

At 10 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Monte Verde. From there, we'll hop in a 4x4 vehicle and head north to Fazenda da Esperança, a more than 100-year-old farm about an hour away.

Located in Jaguary de Cima, Fazenda da Esperança is ideal to explore the typical flora and fauna of Minas Gerais. At the farm, we'll learn about traditional activities linked to country life.

Upon arrival, we'll embark on a guided tour of the farm's facilities. We'll discuss the history of the fazenda, established in 1842, and the family that has managed it for five generations.

During the tour, we'll observe local birds and, with luck, spot anteaters, deer, and maned wolves. Information about the animals will be shared.

We'll also learn about the process of making dulce de leche on-site, with tasting included. For a more extensive culinary experience, visit the Fazenda Esperança restaurant for lunch at your own expense.

After two hours at the farm, the tour will conclude at 2 pm, after which we will drop you off at your hotel in Monte Verde.
