Hiking Malacara Canyon

On this hiking route through the Malacara Canyon from Cambará do Sul, we will explore a major canyon in southern Brazil.

Hiking route highlights

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cambará do Sul and travel south in a 4x4.

After a 40-minute ride, we will arrive at Serra Geral National Park to begin our hiking route along the Malacara Canyon. The hike is 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) long and showcases some of the most notable canyons in southern Brazil.

This medium-difficulty hiking route features various local plant species including bromeliads, fig trees, and cinnamon trees. We will also observe unique fauna such as toucans and thrushes. The pace will be slow, allowing for appreciation of the lush surroundings and natural beauty.

At the end of the hike, we will reach the natural pools within Malacara Canyon, where you will have an hour of free time to swim in the crystal-clear waters.

After resting, we will retrace our hiking route back to the national park entrance. Once we arrive, our vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Cambará do Sul, completing an adventure lasting 4 to 5 hours.
