São José dos Ausentes Day Trip

On this day trip to São José dos Ausentes, we will visit the tallest point in Rio Grande do Sul and admire its landscapes.

Description

At the specified time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cambará do Sul and depart in a 4x4 vehicle to São José dos Ausentes. We will discuss the history of the town, originally the largest ranch in the region, covering over 1000 square kilometers (386 square miles), but now abandoned.

Upon reaching São José dos Ausentes, we will proceed to Pico do Monte Negro and begin a short 4-kilometer (2.5 miles) hiking route to the highest point in the state.

At 1043 meters (3421 feet) above sea level, we will enjoy views of Monte Negro Canyon, and on clear days, observe the Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina coast.

Following the hike, we will return by 4x4 to the farm for a buffet-style lunch. After the meal, we will visit the Rodriges waterfall, exploring nearby Cerro Maracujá and the fields of Cima da Serra.

Finally, we will return to Cambará do Sul, completing this day trip to São José dos Ausentes at your hotel after 10 hours of activity.
