Harvard Walking Tour
At your selected time, we'll meet at the Harvard metro, located at 1376 Massachusetts Ave. Your tour guides, current students, will take you to the symbolic Johnson Gate, one of the campus entrances.
During the tour, we will not be able to go inside the buildings, but we will admire the beautiful façades and grounds.
We'll stop in front of the statue of John Harvard, the university's first benefactor. You can partake in the tradition of touching the statue's foot for good luck, a practice shared by notable alumni such as Obama, Kennedy, and Roosevelt.
Next, we will visit Memorial Hall, a Victorian building honoring Harvard students who fought in the American Civil War, and pass by Widener Library, the largest on campus, which contains over three million books.
We will then admire the Memorial Church and the Harvard Lampoon headquarters, a student magazine first published in 1876, which saw contributions from significant writers and editors like John Updike and Conan O'Brien.
Finally, we will conclude our tour at the emblematic Winthrop Park after an hour and 10 minutes.
