In this activity from Campeche, we'll enjoy a boat ride to see dolphins near Aguada Island, on the west coast of the Yucatan.
Aguada Island Dolphin Watching
At 9 am, we'll pick you up at the Ocean View Hotel in Campeche and travel by road to the fishermen's pier next to the boardwalk of Aguada Island.
Once at the pier, we'll embark on a boat ride along the coast of Aguada Island, observing bottlenose dolphins. These animals can reach speeds of 6 knots (6.9 mph or 11 kph).
We will continue navigating through the Términos Lagoon, stopping at Isla de los Pájaros (Bird Island) for 2 hours, where you can swim and relax. Please bring your picnic.
While on Bird Island, you can admire the diversity of birds in the area, which serves as a habitat for numerous species, identifiable by their plumage.
Finally, we'll return to the pier of Aguada Island and then travel back to San Francisco de Campeche, with an expected arrival time of 5 pm.
Cetacean Sightings
The coast of Aguada Island and Ciudad del Carmen is an excellent location to see dolphins and other cetaceans. However, the sightings may vary due to factors such as weather and the breeding seasons of different species.
