On this night tour of Campeche, we'll explore the charming corners of the capital, discovering its rich history and colonial architecture at nightfall, with a unique atmosphere created by the cobbled streets and illuminated bastions. The tour concludes with the spectacle of the Campeche Marine Fountains.
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to begin this night tour through the emblematic streets of Campeche.
We'll start with a visit to the San Miguel Redoubt, an ancient fortress offering views of the city while learning about its role in defending against pirate attacks.
Next, we'll proceed to the historic centre for a walking tour through its cobbled streets. We will explore colonial mansions and alleys, revealing the legends of this walled city. We'll also visit the Baluarte de San Carlos, another key defense structure against pirates.
Afterwards, we'll head to the Temple of San José, notable for its mysticism and architectural beauty. Following that, we'll experience the Casa de Artesanías to admire Campeche's popular crafts.
The tour continues to the Casa 6 Cultural Centre, an 18th century mansion with exhibitions on Campeche's history and culture, the Main Square, and the Cathedral, a bustling intersection of past and present.
Finally, we'll visit the Malecon for panoramic views before enjoying Poesía del Mar, a spectacular display of lights, water, and sounds at the Fuentes Marinas. Each fountain shoots water up to 20 m (65 ft) high, illuminated in various colors, synchronized with music.
