Tour Details
We'll begin this free tour of Campos do Jordão at the Praça do Capivari, a spot reminiscent of a town in the Swiss Alps, ideal for discussing the town's history.
After this introduction, we'll head to Geneve Boulevard, the liveliest street in Campos do Jordão, where we'll stroll to admire its terraces and traditional shops. The next destination is the church of São Benedito, notable for its neo-gothic architecture from the 1940s.
We will then visit the Casa do Monteiro Lobato, former residence of a renowned local writer, to learn about his contributions to Brazilian children's literature. Following this, we'll explore the Railway Memory Centre to understand the city's development through old locomotives.
Finally, we'll walk to the cable car station, where we'll learn about its significance in the city. The tour concludes after 2 hours. If interested, you can take the cable car for best views of the Mantiqueira Mountains.
