Chichén Itzá & Ek Balam Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the designated time and head to the Yucatán Peninsula to visit Chichén Itzá. Upon arrival, we will see the Temple of Kukulcán, a New Seven Wonder of the World. This pyramid features colossal staircases that conceal centuries of history.
Other sites include the Great Ball Court, Venus Temple, and the Temple of the Warriors, which is flanked by two large snakes. At the observatory, we will discuss how the Itzaes were guided by equinoxes, sunsets, solstices, and stars in their decision-making.
After this visit, we will proceed to the Hubiku Cenote. Here, you can swim in this 200-foot deep well of crystal clear water, which the Maya believed was a passage to the underworld. A Yucatecan lunch will be provided, and afterwards, you can visit the tequila museum located on-site.
Our next stop is the Mayan city of Ek Balam, dating back to 300 BC. We will explore structures such as the Entrance Arch, ceremonial center, Oval Palace, and Ballcourt, all of which are well-preserved.
We will also visit the tomb of Ukit Kan Le'k Tok' to admire its frieze and learn about the history behind its two pyramids. After 12 hours of culture and history, we’ll return to the starting point and conclude the tour.
