On this excursion to Tulum from Cancun, participants will visit a significant pre-Columbian area of the Mexican Caribbean and a Mayan village. The experience includes swimming in a sacred cenote.
Description
The tour begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cancun, followed by a drive to Tulum. The site, located on the Caribbean shore, is notable for its archaeological significance. The guided tour starts at the main sacred monuments, including the Temple of the Frescoes, known for its stucco decorations, and the Temple of the Descending God, which highlights the history of this important Maya deity.
Next, participants will explore El Castillo, a prominent structure that offers stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. Following the Tulum tour, the excursion proceeds to a Mayan village. Here, participants are welcomed by locals who share their customs and traditions. A handmade tortilla workshop is included, where ancestral foods are discussed.
After the workshop, there will be one hour for swimming in the village's cenote, known for its striking turquoise waters. The return journey to Cancun is planned for 5.5 to 7 hours after departure.
