Discover the wilderness of the Picos de Europa National Park on a bird-watching trip to the Lakes of Covadonga from Cangas de Onís.

Description

The adventure begins at the parking lot of Llerado Street in Cangas de Onís. After gathering, we will travel to the Picos de Europa National Park.

For 3.5 hours, we will explore the Covadonga, Enol, and Ercina lakes at an altitude of 1100 meters. Insights into these landscapes' formation will be shared, with opportunities for photography amidst stunning surroundings. The focus will be on the area's nature, geology, and ethnography.

Next, we will visit Vega de Enol, known for Gamoneu cheese. Participate in cheese-making demonstrations by local shepherds and taste this delicacy.

We will also stop at the Mirador de la Reina for views and wildlife observation. Binoculars and telescopes will be provided to spot birds of prey, including vultures and golden eagles. Learn about the reintroduction project for bearded vultures.

Throughout the tour, we will discuss local wildlife such as bears, wolves, and chamois. The tour concludes with a return to the meeting point, offering memorable experiences.
