Discover the wilderness of the Picos de Europa National Park on this small group trip to the Covadonga Lakes from Cangas de Onís, where you will see birds and admire the landscapes.

Explore the Lakes of Covadonga

After gathering at the parking lot of Llerado Street in Cangas de Onís, board the small-group vehicle for a journey through the Picos de Europa National Park. For 3.5 hours, explore the Covadonga, Enol, and Ercina lakes, situated at 1100 meters altitude, while learning about the landscape's formation. Enjoy the natural surroundings and take photos with the lakes as a backdrop.

Next, visit Vega de Enol, known for its Gamoneu cheese, and learn about the link between extensive livestock farming and mountain ecosystems. This is where shepherds craft this cheese.

The tour includes a stop at the Mirador de la Reina, providing views where you can use binoculars and telescopes to observe birds of prey such as vultures, golden eagles, and bearded vultures. Learn about the reintroduction project for bearded vultures and their significance. Additionally, explore the lives of other wildlife in the park, such as bears, wolves, and chamois, before returning to the meeting point, concluding an unforgettable experience.
