Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll begin our guided tour at the Basilica Paleocristiana dell’Annunziata, where an archaeologist will guide you through the important sites of the Paestum Archaeological Park.
The ruins in Paestum have preserved the legacy of the city of Magna Graecia. The tour starts with the temples of Neptune and Hera, notable for their Dorian columns.
The tour continues with discoveries of other ruins, including the amphitheatre, and a visit to the Temple of Athens, featuring more Dorian architectural elements. As we view the columns, we'll discuss the associated myths and legends.
We will also visit the Paestum Archaeological Museum to see additional artifacts from the Ancient Greek city, including the swimmer's tomb. You will learn about the identity of this individual.
After a 2-hour guided tour, we will conclude, and you'll have the option to continue exploring the archaeological museum if you wish.
