Paestum Cheese Factory Visit

During this visit to a cheese factory in Paestum, we'll discover the secrets of two main dairy products of Campania: mozzarella and ricotta. Tasting these products along with other local specialties is included.

Tour Details

We will meet at the Paestum Train Station at the scheduled time and take a minibus to the cheese factory. The journey lasts about 25 minutes.

Upon arrival, we will explore the factory facilities, starting with a demonstration of buffalo mozzarella production.

Next, we will visit the buffalo farm to learn about animal care, with opportunities for close encounters. A museum showcasing over a thousand exhibits on the agricultural history of the region is also available for exploration.

The tour includes a visit to a leather workshop where buffalo hides are crafted into products. After the factory visit, we will enjoy a tasting session featuring various mozzarella and ricotta-based dishes, including crepes and salad.

Additional tastings will include homemade yoghurt, with options like ice cream or cappuccino. Each tasting will be accompanied by local wine, rustic bread, and water.

This experience lasts approximately 3.5 hours, after which we will return to the starting point in Paestum.
