Paestum Cheese Factory Visit

During this visit to a cheese factory in Paestum, we'll discover the secrets of the most famous dairy products of Campania: mozzarella and ricotta. We will also taste these delicacies with other local products.

Tour Details

At the indicated time, we will meet at the Paestum Train Station, from where we will take a minibus to a cheese factory. After about a 25-minute journey, we will arrive and begin our visit. First, we will observe the preparation of buffalo mozzarella, learning the steps in the process of making this product.

Next, we will visit the buffalo farm to learn about the care of these animals and have the chance to interact with them. The cheese factory also features a museum with over a thousand exhibits highlighting the agricultural history of the region.

We will then tour a leather workshop, where buffalo hides are processed into various handicraft products. Following the visit, we will enjoy a tasting session featuring different mozzarella and ricotta-based dishes, including crepes and salad.

Additionally, we will sample homemade yoghurt, ice creamcappuccino, all accompanied by local wine, rustic bread, and water. After a 3.5-hour experience, we will return to the starting point in Paestum to conclude the tour.
